Administrative
Q. How much does it cost to become a member?
A. New members to Select and Premier Teams pay a one time membership fee of $60. Annual cost for travel teams will range from $700 to $1000. This range will vary depending on coaching fees and tournaments. Annual cost for House and Developmental teams will be around $350.
Q. Is financial support available?
A. Financial support is available to families most in need and covers the club registration fees.
Q. Where can the registration forms be found?
A. Registration forms can be found under the Forms tab on the Home page. Coaches and managers may also distribute these forms to you.
Q. Where should registration paperwork and payment be submitted?
A. Team registration paperwork and payment should be submitted to your coach or manager. Other paperwork or payments should be mailed to: 7184 Fielding St, Ypsilanti, 48197.
Logistics
Q. Where are home games played?
A. Currently, home games are played at the following field locations: Concordia University, Fuller Park, Grace Bible Church, Huron High School, Pioneer High School, Saline High School.
Q. How young do kids start and what programs are offered?
A. We offer developmental programs for kids as young as 5 years old. We offer competitive teams for players starting at 7 years old.
Q. When do teams play?
A. There are two outdoor seasons supported by the club: fall and spring. The fall season starts in late August and ends in late October. The spring season starts in mid-April and ends in mid-June. The indoor sessions are optional, but run from November through mid-April.
Q. How many times per week do teams practice?
A. In general, teams practice two times per week. Some of the recreation teams may practice once per week while some of the more competitive teams will practice three times per week. Information will be provided by each team regarding their practice schedule.
Q. Where do teams practice?
A. Many teams rent field space at Concordia University for its practices. Other teams rent field space from the Ann Arbor Public Schools as well as the City of Ann Arbor. Practice time and location are recommended by the coach and manager.
Tryouts
Q. When and where are tryouts held?
A. Tryouts begin on the second Saturday in June each year. Specific details including the dates, times and location for each age group can be found on the Tryouts tab.
Q. What should be brought to the tryouts?
A. A ball, water bottle, shin guards and soccer cleats. A parent or guardian should also be present for registration.
Q. Do players need to attend both sessions on the schedule?
A. Two sessions per age group and gender are offered to allow coaches to more time to evaluate the player pool. It is highly recommended that the players attend both sessions. Roster spots may be offered after the first session.
Q. Are players allowed to tryout for an older age group?
A. Players are allowed to tryout for an older age group team. However, we strongly recommend playing within the current age group.
Q. Are there any opportunities to join a team after tryouts are conducted?
A. Opportunities exist to join a team if you miss the tryouts, but will depend on availability of roster spots on the respective teams.
Q. How will a player be notified about the team selection?
A. Some age groups are larger and may take longer to confirm the team selection. Contact is generally done via the phone, but email contact is another option. Please
if you have not been notified about the results of the tryouts.
Q. What would be the next step?
A. Once the roster is confirmed, a meeting will be scheduled to collect the registration paperwork and review the team plans for the upcoming year.
